Védís Jónsdóttir’s V-neck sweater from Ístex’s Lopi 26, knitted from the shoulders down with three strands of Plötulopi held together, so the colours blend into one heathered mix. Near the hem one strand is swapped for a second strand of the darkest colour, which makes a darker band at the hem, and the sleeves are knitted with two strands. The pattern has two colour versions with the same amounts — blue (winter blue, navy and arctic blue) and grey (dark grey, black heather and grey heather) — in sizes S to XXL; in the photo a woman wears the blue one and a man the grey.

What you get

The knitting pattern in English (PDF), emailed right after purchase — nothing is posted

Two colour versions — blue and grey

Sizes S, M, L, XL and XXL

Yarn and needles are not included. The back and the two fronts are knitted flat in stocking stitch with three strands, A+B+C, on 7 mm. Each front starts from a provisional cast-on in waste yarn and widens at the neck edge to shape the V; the fronts are joined with one cast-on stitch, and at 22 (23, 24, 25, 26) cm from the shoulder back and front are joined in the round, with 4 (4, 6, 6, 6) stitches cast on under each straight armhole. The body is decreased 2 stitches at each side at 33 (34, 35, 36, 37) cm, and at 53 (54, 55, 57, 58) cm C is swapped for a second strand of B for the darker hem band, with one more side decrease 2 cm later — the pattern says to skip the side decreases if you want the body wider. The body ends in 3 cm of K1, P1 rib on 5.5 mm. The shoulders are grafted. The sleeves are picked up round the armholes with two strands on 5.5 mm — A+C for blue, B+C for grey — knitted down in the round, decreased at the underarm, changed to A+B after 10 cm and finished with 3 cm of K1, P1 rib on 4.5 mm. The neck is edged with a round of single crochet in A+B, and dark elastic thread is basted inside it to keep its shape.

Design: Védís Jónsdóttir — pattern from Lopi No. 26 (no. 9), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/lopi26-hum-1_954bad75-9a41-41cd-8fdd-fe5c6af49c3b.jpg?v=1790992511
