Mark the middle of the strip’s length: that is the centre back. Wrap the strip round the head, make a knot at the front and take the two ends to the back of the head, the right-hand end on the right side over the top and the left-hand end on the left. Sew the ends in under the edge at the centre back so they ruffle a little, starting at the marker and sewing each side in the opposite direction. Then sew the sides of the strip together in the middle of the top and at each side of the hat.

Design: Védís Jónsdóttir — pattern from Lopi No. 34 (no. 18), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/L34_18_Hottur_2-585x798_de87469d-bc2e-466e-b864-7db743ff5e56.jpg?v=1791011735
