The body is knitted back and forth with a cable up each front, the sleeves start with a short cable panel, and the yoke is shaped with decreases while the front cables carry on to the neck. The front bands are K2, P2 rib in the thinner Álafosslopi in black heather, with eight buttonholes in the right band. One colourway — ash with black heather bands — in sizes S to XL. The sleeves are knitted in the round on double-pointed needles, also with no rib: a cable panel in the middle is crossed 3 times — the left cable on the left sleeve, the right cable on the right sleeve — and then the sleeve goes on in stocking stitch. “At same time”, as the pattern puts it, one stitch is increased every 5th round, in turn after the first and before the last stitch of the round, 10 (11, 10, 11) times. Body and sleeves are joined at 119 (127, 135, 143) stitches and the yoke is knitted back and forth from a chart — 24 rows for S and M, 28 for L and XL — with the front cables carrying on and the decreases set in wedges, to 41 (43, 45, 47) stitches. Then short rows on 8 mm, from the rows marked 1, 2 and 3 above the chart — the first two turn at a cable, the third goes to the end — and the yoke is bound off. The front bands are picked up in Álafosslopi on 6 mm, one stitch in every row from the lower edge to the neck, and knitted in K2, P2 rib — 2 rows, a row with eight buttonholes in the right band, 2 more rows — and bound off in rib. The underarms are grafted and the buttons sewn on.

Design: Védís Jónsdóttir — pattern from Lopi No. 27 (no. 14), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/L27_14_Greta_Light_Grey_Bulky_Cardigan_Knitting_Kit_e79bf451-a352-480a-b4aa-739f6769e8ac.jpg?v=1791027702
