At the base of the yoke, points of ash and of the lighter shade reach down into the main colour; above them a band of black heather carries small drops in colour C (light denim or light grey green), and short upright stripes lead to a folded neckband. A small border in all five colours sits above the ribbed hem and cuffs. Two colour versions with the same amounts — Blue (indigo with light indigo, light denim, black heather and ash) and Grey green (dark grey green with grey green, light grey green, black heather and ash) — in sizes XS to XXL. The blue version’s colours are all still made; three of the grey green version’s — dark grey green (9986), grey green (9775) and light grey green (9761) — are no longer made.

What you get

The knitting pattern in English (PDF), emailed right after purchase — nothing is posted

Two colour versions — Blue and Grey green

Sizes XS, S, M, L, XL and XXL

Two charts — the border and the yoke — with one key for both versions

Yarn and needles are not included. The body is cast on in A with 112 (120, 120, 126, 132, 138) stitches on 4½ mm and knitted in knit 1, purl 1 rib for 5 (5, 6, 6, 6, 6) cm; on the 6 mm circular, 8 (8, 8, 10, 12, 14) stitches are increased evenly in the first round, to 120 (128, 128, 136, 144, 152), the 11-round border of chart 1 is knitted, and the body goes on in A to 40 (41, 43, 44, 45, 45) cm. The sleeves are cast on in A with 32 (32, 32, 36, 36, 36) stitches on 4½ mm double-pointed needles and ribbed for 5 (5, 6, 6, 6, 6) cm; on 6 mm double-pointed needles 8 (8, 8, 4, 4, 8) stitches are increased evenly, to 40 (40, 40, 40, 40, 44), chart 1 is knitted, and then, in A, 1 stitch is increased at the beginning and end of every 8th (8th, 6th, 6th, 6th, 5th) round, 4 (4, 6, 7, 8, 7) times, to 48 (48, 52, 54, 56, 58) stitches and 47 (49, 51, 53, 55, 55) cm. 8 (8, 8, 9, 10, 11) stitches go on holders at each underarm, and body and sleeves are joined in A on the 6 mm circular for the round yoke, 184 (192, 200, 208, 216, 224) stitches. The 39-round yoke chart, with five decrease rounds, takes it to 69 (72, 75, 78, 81, 84) stitches; sizes XS to XL leave out the rounds marked for them — by the chart’s labels 33 (34, 36, 37, 38, 39) rounds. One more round in A decreases evenly to 52 (54, 56, 58, 58, 60). The neckband is knit 1, purl 1 rib on 4½ mm for 7 (8, 8, 8, 8, 8) cm, cast off loosely, folded in half to the inside and sewn down, and the underarm stitches are joined.

Based on old pattern by Jóhanna Hjaltadóttir.
