The body is cast on with 166 (184) stitches on the 3.5 mm circular and knitted in the round in a 9 cm rib — a round of K1, P1, then a purl round on the grey sweater or a knit round on the pink one, repeated — and then in stocking stitch on 4.5 mm. From 12 (14) cm on the grey sweater, 20 (22) cm on the pink, it is decreased by 2 stitches at each side three times, 5 cm apart, to 154 (172), and 6 cm later increased the same way back to 166 (184). The sleeves start with 8 cm of the same rib, gain 6 stitches spread evenly over the first round on 4.5 mm, and are then increased by 2 under the arm every 8th round, 9 (10) times. Body and sleeves are joined for the round yoke, a 49-round chart of spots with seven decrease rounds, from 250 (275) stitches to 80 (88); S\/M leaves out rounds 2–6. The neckline is 5 cm of the same rib on 3.5 mm. Last, a round of single crochet in the spot colour goes along the edge of the neck rib, the hem and the cuffs.
