Both of this version’s colours are no longer made: this kit has 1705 royal fuchsia in place of the rose heather (9428), and 1414 violet heather in place of the berry heather (9429). Royal fuchsia is the closest Léttlopi made today, but it is clearly brighter and more magenta than the dusty plum in the photos.

Included

Icelandic Léttlopi wool yarn — yarn for the largest size is included, so every size is covered

Knitting pattern in English (PDF) — emailed right after purchase

ADDI knitting needles — only if you choose the kit with needles

Léttlopi — 50 g balls · sizes S (M L)
A 1705 Royal Fuchsia (in place of 9428 rose heather) — 7 (7 8)
B 1414 Violet Heather (in place of 9429 berry heather) — 2 (2 2)

Sizes

S

M

L

Chest

91 cm
35¾″

96 cm
37¾″

100 cm
39¼″

Length to underarm

40 cm
15¾″

42 cm
16½″

43 cm
17″

Sleeve length to underarm

47 cm
18½″

48 cm
19″

48 cm
19″

Gauge
18 sts × 24 rows = 10 cm (4″) in stocking stitch on 4.5 mm needles.

Needles used in the pattern (included when you choose the kit with needles)
3.5 mm (US 4) circular needle, 80 cm, for the hem rib
4.5 mm (US 7) circular needles, 40 and 80 cm, for the body and the yoke
3.5 mm (US 4) and 4.5 mm (US 7) double-pointed needles for the cuffs and sleeves — and, by our reading, the neck rib, which at 74 to 78 stitches is too small round for the 80 cm circular

Not included
A cable needle, stitch markers (2 for the cable panel and 2 at the sides, then 4 for the raglan), stitch holders (or scrap yarn) for the underarm stitches, and a tapestry needle for grafting the underarms.

How it is knitted
Body and sleeves are knitted in the round from the bottom up. The hem is 8 rounds of K1, P1 rib on 3.5 mm, with two purl rounds in it. On 4.5 mm the body is stocking stitch except for 22 stitches at the centre front: 2 purl stitches, an 18-stitch braided cable and 2 purl stitches, from an 8-round chart of 3-over-3 cable crosses. At 20 (21) 22 cm, vertical rib panels begin at both sides and at the centre back and are worked for 10 cm — 5 cm in royal fuchsia, then 5 cm in violet heather; violet heather then goes on in stocking stitch for 5 cm more, making a 10 cm band. The body is finished in royal fuchsia to 40 (42) 43 cm. The sleeves start with the same rib on 3.5 mm double-pointed needles, are increased at the underarm, and get the same 10 cm band in violet heather from 32 (33) 34 cm. Body and sleeves are joined for a raglan yoke, decreased 8 stitches every other round beside a 2-stitch purl line at each of the four raglan lines; the cable runs on almost to the neck. The neck is 8 rounds of the hem rib on 3.5 mm, bound off loosely, and the underarms are grafted.

Design: Ásta Guðrún Jóhannsdóttir — pattern from Lopi No. 31 (no. 7), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/lopi31-gna-2_9129e8b2-2034-4389-93e5-a18cfc7232ff.jpg?v=1790985196
