A plain Álafosslopi sweater with a round yoke, a tall ribbed collar and a big letter or picture of your own, sewn on the front in duplicate stitch once the sweater is knitted. The pattern has three versions in sizes S to XXL: a men’s sweater in oatmeal with a chocolate letter, a men’s sweater in happy red with black Hosuband — a sock yarn — at the cast-on edge and in a band on each sleeve, and a longer ladies’ sweater in dark grey with a light ash letter. The body starts with 8 cm of K2, P2 rib and is decreased at both sides twice — 4 stitches each time — on the way to the underarm: 46 (47, 48, 49, 50) cm for men, 56 (57, 58, 59, 60) cm for ladies. The sleeves start with 8 cm of the same rib and are increased at the underarm; for the red version, a 20 cm band in black Hosuband starts 18 (19, 20, 20, 21) cm from the cast-on edge. Body and sleeves are joined for the round yoke: 12 stitches are taken in at the four joins over two rounds, then five evenly spaced decrease rounds take it from 176 (192, 202, 208, 228) stitches to 56 (62, 67, 68, 78), and a last round to 48 (52, 56, 56, 60). The collar is 16 (18, 18, 18, 20) cm of K2, P2 rib, bound off loosely. Last, a letter or picture of your own, up to 25 stitches wide and 30 rounds high, is sewn on the front in duplicate stitch, its top 1–2 rounds below the first decrease in the yoke.

Design: Friðrik Örn Hjaltested (pattern written by Hulda Hákonardóttir) — pattern from Lopi No. 31 (no. 8), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/lopi31-frikki-1_d04941e1-ac64-485f-999c-7b1702bb4cb7.jpg?v=1791013121
