The body is cast on in A with 160 (176, 192, 208) stitches on the 3½ mm circular: 6 rounds of stocking stitch and 6 rounds of knit 1, purl 1 rib; then on 4½ mm it is knitted in stocking stitch to 40 (41, 42, 43) cm. The sleeves are cast on in A with 40 (42, 44, 44) stitches on 3½ mm double-pointed needles, with the same edge; on 4½ mm, 2 stitches are increased — 1 after the first and 1 before the last stitch of the round — in the first round after the rib and then every 7th (7th, 6th, 6th) round, to 64 (68, 72, 74), and the sleeve is knitted to 44 (45, 46, 47) cm for the woman’s length or 47 (48, 49, 50) cm for the man’s. Body and sleeves are joined in A for the round yoke, 256 (272, 288, 304) stitches, with 8 (10, 12, 12) stitches at each underarm left on holders, and the yoke chart, with six decrease rounds, takes it to 80 (85, 90, 95) — sizes S, M and L leave out marked rounds, so the chart is 46 (47, 49, 51) rounds. The neckband is knitted on 3½ mm: one round in B decreasing to 72 (74, 76, 78) stitches, 6 rounds of knit 1, purl 1 rib in B and 6 rounds of stocking stitch in A, bound off loosely.
