Védís Jónsdóttir’s sweater dress from Ístex’s Lopi 26: a women’s long-sleeved round-yoke dress in Léttlopi, with a yoke of zigzags and small diamonds, a matching border at the cuffs and a shaped waist. There is no rib: the hem, cuffs and neck have a small garter edge with a row of eyelets. The pattern gives two colour versions with the same amounts — brown with white and camel, and lilac with black and garnet red — and two lengths, short and long, in sizes XS to XL. Brown (1401), camel (1400) and lilac (1413) are no longer made; white, black and garnet red still are.

What you get

The knitting pattern in English (PDF), emailed right after purchase — nothing is posted

Two colour versions — brown and lilac

Two lengths, short and long

Sizes XS, S, M, L and XL

Two charts — the sleeve border and the yoke — with one key for both versions

Yarn and needles are not included. The body is cast on in A — brown or lilac — and starts with 3 rows knitted back and forth — knit, a row of eyelets (k2tog, yo), knit — before it is joined: a small garter edge with a row of holes, where most yoke sweaters have rib. The body is plain stocking stitch in A, knitted straight to 20 (21, 22, 24, 24) cm for the short length or 30 (31, 32, 34, 34) cm for the long one, and then shaped at the waist: 20 stitches are decreased at the sides, and 12 are increased again. The sleeves start with the same eyelet edge in C — white or black — and an 8-round border in all three colours. Body and sleeves are joined for the round yoke: a 50-round chart of zigzags and small diamonds in C and B — white and camel on brown, or black and garnet red on lilac — with six decrease rounds and a few rounds skipped in every size but XL. The neckband, in C, is a knit round, a purl round, an eyelet round and a purl round. The underarm stitches are grafted.

Design: Védís Jónsdóttir — pattern from Lopi No. 26 (no. 14), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/lopi26-eyja-cover-1_b34a315a-f242-49ef-9020-fcb78eaec415.jpg?v=1790999792
