Every piece starts with 3 rows of seed stitch and keeps 2 seed stitches at each edge; the rest is stocking stitch in blocks of four to six colours, with the last row of each colour and the first row of the next worked in seed stitch. The colours change at different heights from strip to strip. The outer strips have 6 stitches bound off for the armhole at 82 (84, 86) rows, the two centre-front strips are decreased for the V-neck, and every body strip ends after 122 (126, 130) rows — 68 (70, 72) cm. Each half-sleeve starts with 16 (18, 20) stitches, is increased along one side edge every 6th row to 28 (30, 32) and ends at 90 rows — 50 cm in every size. The pieces are sewn together with colour A, between the purled stitches of the edges, and the front edges and the neckline are oversewn with the same stitch so they do not stretch.
