The body is cast on in white on 3.5 mm, with a K1, P1 rib and a garter ridge at the edge; it is joined into a round when it changes to 4.5 mm, and the 23-round flower band of chart 1 is knitted in white and garnet red. After the band the body is decreased 7 (7, 8) stitches and goes on in garnet red to 24 (28, 32) cm. The sleeves are cast on in white on 3.5 mm double-pointed needles and joined at once, with the same rib and ridge, then knitted on 4.5 mm with the flower band of chart 2, increased at the underarm to 48 (50, 54) stitches and continued in garnet red to 26 (30, 34) cm. Body and sleeves are joined for the round yoke — 190 (210, 230) stitches — knitted in garnet red from chart 3 with three decrease rounds, down to 82 (90, 98); the smaller sizes leave out marked rounds. The neckband is knitted on 3.5 mm, decreased to 58 (60, 66) stitches and then worked back and forth: a purl ridge, 5 rows of K1, P1 rib, a second ridge and 5 more rows, cast off loosely, folded in half to the inside and slip-stitched down. Two rows of small straight machine stitches go up each purl stitch at the front, and the front is cut open between the two pairs of sewn rows.
