The body and sleeves are one strand of black Léttlopi and one of white Einband knitted together, which gives a black-and-white marl; three bands are knitted in single strands of white and dark grey Léttlopi — linked ovals above the hem rib, zigzags above the cuffs and large triangles across the chest and shoulders. It is knitted in the round and cut open at the front, and the garter-stitch borders, which widen into the collar, are knitted separately and sewn on. Sizes S/M and L/XL; all four colours are still made. Lopi 29 has a different pattern with the same name.

What you get

The knitting pattern in English (PDF), emailed right after purchase — nothing is posted

Sizes S/M and L/XL

Charts for the body, sleeve and yoke bands (the yoke chart for each size), with a key

Yarn and needles are not included. Two pocket linings are knitted first. The body is cast on with 164 (174) stitches and knitted back and forth in k2, p3 rib for 16 rows, then joined in the round with a purled stitch at each side of the front for cutting, increased to 170 (178) and knitted with the 19-round body band; on the next round the pocket linings take the place of 18 stitches on each front, and the body is knitted to 50 (52) cm. The sleeves have 16 rounds of the same rib, the 24-round zigzag band and increases to 65 (69) stitches. Body and sleeves are joined for the yoke, 252 (268) stitches, and the 22-round yoke band is begun in the round; after 10 rounds the purled stitches are bound off and the rest of the yoke is knitted back and forth, with the decreases shown in the chart, to 152 (168) stitches, then with raglan decreases every other row to 48 (64), and bound off. The front is sewn twice by machine and cut. The front borders and collar are two separate garter-stitch strips that are increased into the collar, grafted at the back and sewn on; the left one has six buttonholes. The pocket edges are 8 rows of garter stitch, and the underarms are grafted.

Design: Guðrún Ragna Sigurjónsdóttir — pattern from Lopi No. 30 (no. 17), Ístex.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1662/1057/files/L30_17_Ari_1-585x798_e56c3854-dfd7-4f65-bbe0-6a638303c3f8.jpg?v=1791020088
