The hem is 5 cm of K1, P1 rib in beige (B), knitted back and forth on 4.5 mm; on 5.5 mm, 2 stitches are cast on and the body is joined into a round, with a purl stitch at each side of the centre front, where it will be cut open. The sleeves start with 5 cm of K1, P1 rib in beige on 4.5 mm double-pointed needles. Body and sleeves both get the 13-round band from chart 1 — white chevrons on black, ending in two rounds of beige — and then go on in the main colour: white (A) for the women’s version, to 60 (62, 64, 66, 66) cm, or beige (B) for the men’s, to 40 (42, 44, 46, 47) cm; the sleeves are increased at the underarm. Body and sleeves are joined on 5.5 mm for the round yoke, knitted from charts 2, 3 and 4 in all three colours, with six decrease rounds from 201 (209, 217, 225, 233) stitches to 69 (71, 73, 75, 77). Women’s: a 10 cm collar of K1, P1 rib knitted back and forth on 4.5 mm, 3 cm in white and the rest in beige. Men’s: 7 cm of rib in beige, folded in half to the inside and slip-stitched, hiding the top end of the zip.
